p is for pvc pipe sprinkler

oh, i hope, hope, hope i get the details figured out so we pull this off at preschool.  like, always have extra water clothes and towels?  my kids loved this.  and here’s a fun thing:  these big kids all went through new creation preschool….ahhhh, days gone by.

quite simply:  pvc pipe and random connectors/caps.  holes drilled in random spots.  the hose shoved in one end (though it would easily come out….our hose connector was the wrong size).  the longest pipe balanced in the basketball net.

endless possibilities.

endless joy.

good, good summer fun.

  1. Oh what fun! We get extremely hot here in Australia so when its just unbearable at kindy (kindergarten) I put the sprinkler on top of sandpit cover and do a rain-dance. They all get drenched and have so much fun. Learning is supposed to be fun.I know we have sprinkler bans etc but its only for a short time and kids today miss out on so many fun things that I use to do as a kid like sliding down banks on cardboard etc. I love the PVC idea. Thank you for your emails.

  2. stephanie, i need to look at that again…i know at one point i lost all my sidebar contents and i guess that never got replaced!

    thanks for asking.

  3. LOVE your website! I’ve been following it for well over a year now, and I remember last summer checking on it during my block planning… it was so handy when you had that list of the letters on the side, and I could click on each letter and take the ideas I liked and write them right into my plans for that week… am I missing something, is there still a way to do that?
    Thanks!

  4. Oh, this is great! I once made a similar thing for my daughter to ride her trike under like a carwash. There are few things more versatile that PVC pipe. =)
